AUSTRALIAN duo Ethan Ewing and Macy Callaghan have capped off their stellar competitive seasons, taking out the World Junior Championship (WJC) in Kiama recently.

The boy’s final was a showdown between the number one and two seeds Ethan Ewing and Griffin Colapinto (US).
In the end, the Australian won the contest 11.34 to Collapinto’s 1.97 to claim the title.
“This feels so amazing,” Ewing said.
“Coming into this event as the top seed gave me confidence from the get go and it all just kept running smoothly from the start of the week.
“It all just went to plan.”
In the girl’s final, Callaghan (15.67) defeated Hawaii’s Mahina Maeda (4.60) to bring home the junior world title.
“I’m so excited, this is the biggest event I have ever been in, so to win it is amazing,” Callaghan said.
“2016 was so amazing for me, so to start off this year like this is just a dream, I can’t wait for what lies ahead.”
