Council will write to the Minister for Roads Duncan Gay, South Coast MP Shelley Hancock and the RMS to approve pedestrian traffic lights on the corner of the Princes Highway and Junction Street to improve safety for people crossing the highway.
Council will also request the state government commits additional funding to the project, in consideration of the commitments made by council and Stockland towards the highway safety improvements and intend to allocate up to $300,000 from their Strategic Project Reserve to fund the project.
A report on the outcome of the design, detailed costs and funding arrangements with Stockland will be compiled for council.
