Shoalhaven City Council has begun strengthening the existing road pavement before placing and compacting the road base material in the coming weeks.

Council contractors are strengthening the pavement by mixing lime with the road base, a technique which enables the existing materials to be renewed instead of being disposing at landfill.  

The rehabilitation works will also see the replacement of a stormwater line, widening of the shoulders and new street trees.

Traffic controllers are at the location with alternate lane flow and speed limits in place.

Motorists are encouraged to use an alternative route over the coming days.
