A NOWRA man who allegedly stole two handbags from women in Nowra in the space of four-and-a-half-hours has been referred to Nowra District Court.

Steven Edward Brackley, 32, of Ferry Lane, who is in custody, appeared via audio visual link in Nowra Local Court on Tuesday before Magistrate Peter Miszalski.
Court documents claim on September 27 last year, between 12.10pm and 12.20pm Brackley approached a 40-year-old woman in the car park at Stockland Nowra and allegedly stole a handbag, which contained $60 and cards, before running off.
Police claim a few hours later, between 4.45pm and 4.55pm, Brackley stole the handbag of a 64-year-old woman in a Berry Street car park.
The bag contained a black organiser, $120 in cash, a mobile phone and personal cards and papers.
Magistrate Miszalski refused bail, with Brackley remanded in custody to reappear in Nowra District Court via AVL on July 28 at which time he will also answer charges of robbery armed with an offensive weapon and larceny, relating to the allegedly robbery of a Sutherland milkbar on September 14 last year while armed with a blood-filled syringe and with stealing a number plate from a vehicle.
