Mike and Julie Wootten from Callala Bay had been on the search for a bigger car to fit their son’s wheelchair when they came across their dream vehicle at the Kinghorn Motor Group.
When they received a phone call saying they had won the Kinghorn Group’s Win a Trip of a Lifetime, they thought it was a prank call.
“We couldn’t believe it. It really is like a dream come true,” Mrs Wootten said.
Their son, Fred, suffered an acquired brain injury five years ago with Mr Wootten being his full-time carer ever since.
“We have always wanted to do something like this, to travel, but haven’t been able to,” Mrs Wootten said.
The couple decided on a trip to Italy and organised to take their son Fred, his partner Nicole and son Rue along as well.
The family will be jetting off in 2015 to enjoy all Italy has to offer.
For the Wootten family the whole thing has been a win-win.
“We needed a bigger car to fit Fred’s wheelchair in and we found the perfect car at Kinghorn,” Mrs Wooten said.
“We have to travel into town a lot and it’s been really good on petrol.”
The couple purchased a quality pre-loved car from the large selection.
“The whole thing has been wonderful. The car is perfect, we couldn’t be happier with the service and we get to go on a trip of a lifetime.
“It has been such a gift,” she said.
Kinghorn Motor Group marketing manager Amy O’Connell has been happy with the promotion, which was ran throughout May and June.
“It has been very successful and one that the community really supported.
“We are really happy that a family so deserving and appreciative won the trip,” she said.
