It took seven ends of sizing each other up before the first breakthrough came, when Team Hall scored four shots bringing the scoreboard to 8-all.
Opting for medium length delivery on end nine, Dennis McKeveney (team Hall) played an absolute with his first bowl resting on the kitty, causing Trevor Clark and Jeff Black to try to ease him out to no avail thus giving team Hall a one point lead at 9–8.
Trevor Clark and Jeff Black regained the lead by winning the next three ends giving them a scoreline of 14–9 only to be pegged back again by an onslaught of brilliant bowls by the opposition including Wally killing three ends taking the score to 18 all on end 18.
To get to that score, it was superb teamwork by Dennis and Wally and to see Wally picking the kitty almost at will was simply magic.
Trevor and Jeff kept the pressure on getting their bowls within centimetres of the kitty but Wally kept easing the kitty slightly backwards finally clinching the championship with a score of 24-18.
Back in the clubhouse president Ian Gilbert congratulated both teams on their brilliant display of skilled bowling and thanked the spectator gallery for staying to the very end of the game.
