They didn’t play the course so much as get blown around it. It wasn’t nice out there weather wise but even so, there were some good scores returned.
All players seemed very relieved to make it back to the clubhouse after four hours of buffeting, and no-one lingered outside if they didn’t have to.
The partnership of Jean Ellis and Donna Hewat proved to be a good one. Jean and Donna won the event on a countback from Linda Weatherill and Cathy Ison, both teams coming home with a +4.
Jo Lord and Marg Jennings also played a nice round to take third spot with +3. The winners of this event have the opportunity to play in the next round later in the year.
Nearest to the pin for divisions one, two and three respectively on the fourth hole were Sue Stephens, Jean Ellis and Sonja Van Hoof.
On the 17th hole Cathy Ison, Barb Howsan and Sonja Van Hoof were closest. Jan Buttle won the jackpot hole. The ball rundown went to – 1 and
there were five places. Congratulations and well done to all our winners and to those who were willing to battle the elements once again.
Tomorrow is another WGN and Golf NSW Monthly Medal round.
