The young violinist loves and lives for music and dance.
The North Nowra resident has had a busy few months leading up to this year’s eisteddfod, the event’s 30th and her fourth.
Her many hours of practice paid off.
Last week she performed three completely different pieces on violin and was awarded the Gerringong Music Club’s Gem Buck Memorial Award.
“I just love hearing music,” she said.
“Music is my favourite thing. It helps you, it makes you happy, it can do anything. It’s magical,” she said.
Her performances this year included a classical piece, a ballad and a fast-paced Irish jig.
She won the 10 years and under junior string section, and the 12 years and under strings, and placed second in the 14 years and under string section.
Her father, Les Livermore said the family trophy cabinet was almost full.
“She started violin when she was five years old and has a very eclectic and adult taste in music,” he said.
The 2014 City of Shoalhaven Eisteddfod is in its final stages with dance this weekend and the Stars of the Eisteddfod on Saturday, June 21 at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre.
