Champion’s crown up for grabs next outing

THE roll up could have been better for the Archer Fishing Club but anglers had a lot of opposition from other activities.

The biggest was the Variety Club Car Rally at the same time as the weigh-in and one of the Archer club members, Peter Fernie, was with the rally.

Lucky winners on the day were:

Estuary men’s - Peter Suitor (biggest fish), Joshua Fernie (biggest bag).

Men’s deep sea - Dave Berger

Men’s beach - Trevor Morris

The fish outside an outing and mystery fish was not won.

The end of the financial year is nearly with the club with only one more outing to go.

With Peter Fernie missing last weekend it gave other members a chance to close the gap and make the next outing interesting in the champion’s race.

Every other year the club always allowed until the end of July before members were not financial.

But the club cannot allow this to happen this year because of the new 10 per cent member’s discount card.

Unless you have paid by June 30, from July 1 you cannot claim the discount.

To give members a chance the club is now accepting next year’s fee.

They can be paid at the raffle table.

The club also has next year’s outing calendar.

The club is open for new members.

Just call 0417 211 608 or see the crew cat the raffle table on Wednesday and Friday between 4.30pm and 7pm.

Tight lines, JP.
