The automotive parts and accessories retailer has lodged a development application with Shoalhaven City Council to move from the corner of Worrigee Street and Haig Avenue to the old Capt’n Snooze store on the corner of the Princes Highway and Central Avenue, South Nowra.
If approved, the new store will trade seven days a week and employ up to 15 staff.
There have been concerns from other businesses in the CBD this is another example of South Nowra stores enjoying cheaper rent prices.
Shoalhaven Business Chamber manager Jennifer Stewart said it was a business decision to move from the CBD as the company wanted larger premises.
“I would say for businesses looking for larger premises that are selling items of that calibre the move would work,” she said.
“In saying that, I would have to say they would need to be the right mix of retail. I can’t imagine a fashion or jewellery store opening up down there.
“Yes, I do believe the rents are cheaper out of the CBD,” she said.
