The Archibald Prize is Australia’s most prestigious and renowned exhibition having celebrated the country’s leading portrait artists since 1921.
Among the prominent pieces to be featured at the upcoming exhibition are Kathryn Del Barton’s winning entry, Hugo, a portrait of Hugo Weaving, as well as Vincent Fantauzzo’s People’s Choice Award, Love Face, featuring actress Asher Keddie.
All 39 shortlisted entries will be on display at the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre from May 13 until June 28.
Shoalhaven residents have been encouraged to see the exhibition as it only tours selected regional areas on a rotating three-year basis.
The Shoalhaven City Arts Centre will be running a People’s Choice Award as part of the exhibition with local residents invited to vote for their favourite art work to go into the draw to win a $500 ANZ Visa debit card.
