About 10pm on Saturday police attended the Shallow Crossing camping ground at Brooman after a report that two trail bike riders had not returned to the camp after leaving for a ride in the national park about 3.30pm.
Police with the assistance of SES volunteers searched the area overnight without locating the missing riders.
About 8.10am the riders, a 20-year-old man from Campbelltown and a 14-year-old boy from Thirlmere, returned to their camp site.
They had become lost the previous night and spent the night in the bush.
They were located by a property owner on Sunday morning and returned to their camp site where they were checked by ambulance paramedics.
