Mr Tindale said his position aimed to increase the awareness of the centre as a public art facility.
“I hope to help local artists be more involved in the gallery and I hope to do that by engaging with the community myself,” he said.
Mr Tindale hoped to explore new directions and arts and culture issues within the community and try to expand exhibitions with contributed work from both outside the community and within.
“There is a healthy arts community within the city.”
Before moving to the South Coast, Mr Tindale worked in the Hunter Valley for a commercial gallery.
He has also had extensive experience in consultancy work, dealt with private clientele and worked in Broken Hill, Bathurst and Tamworth.
