The winner of the April Monthly Mug and the B grade scratch and nett was Ben Bassett with the day’s best score of 66 nett.
Well played Ben, who did the rounds with his mug and managed to get quite a few beers off some of the other players after his round.
Runner-up in B grade was Phil Henry with 71 nett and third place went to Steve Kohler with 72 nett.
The A grade winner was Dave Hedger with a good 69 nett, the runner-up was Troy Monie, who also won the scratch with a fine one score of over par round in sloppy conditions, 71/70.
Third place went to Kev Pattison, who continued his consistent form with a 71 nett.
The C grade medal and scratch was won by Mick Crews with 90/68.
Runner-up was Jim McGrath with a nett 69 and third place went to Dennis Rutherford with 74 nett.
Well done to all the novelty event winners, although the widest drive of the day went to the young man who lost control of his car going way too fast around the corner and smashed his car through the boundary fence of the golf course and nearly ended up on the ninth tee.
The ball comp ran out to 74 nett or better.
Last Thursday’s open comp was won by Jim McGrath with another good score of 43 points, well played Jim and great to see your handicap coming down. Runner-up was Rob Nancarrow with 40 points and third place went to Brad Henderson with 39.
Thanks to Banga and Bowdo who cooked the barbecue for all the members to enjoy a sausage sizzle lunch after golf.
Great to see heaps of social groups out on the golf course last Sunday, although it was a little wet under foot, we were open and everyone enjoyed their day.
The greens are running superb, thanks to our dedicated greenstaff for all their efforts.
This Saturday is a single Stableford, hope to see you all then and Happy Easter to everyone.
Good golfing till next week
