A letter from Family and Community Service Minister Pru Goward to Kiama MP Gareth Ward has revealed the motel has not been used by Housing NSW since September last year, except for two occasions in January this year when no other options were available.
Ms Goward was responding to representation made by Mr Ward on behalf of the manager of Treehaven Village on the opposite side of the Princes Highway. She said Housing NSW used a number of Shoalhaven motels for crisis accommodation.
She urged residents concerned by bad behaviour at the motel to report incidents to the police.
