It is one of the few competitions where all participants are on an even playing field.
This was highlighted this year as all competitors fished the Basin.
Strategy had to go into play and secret fishing spots were well protected.
Ten club members attempted to fish with eight weighing in on the day.
Michele Hurley was anxiously waiting her turn to table her catch, as she had among it a 2.46 kilogram dusky flathead.
Well done Michele, what a way to bump up your total score.
Bream appeared to be the catch of the day with most anglers weighing a number of them in.
Jason Smith took out the biggest catch for the weekend with 6.30 kilograms of fish.
His catch consisted of bream and snapper, and Michele’s dusky was the biggest fish of the day.
Well done to Rory Stone, the only junior member to table his catch.
Congratulations to Jason for winning this competition.
The next fish out is on April 5 and 6.
New members welcome.
