Grants offered to improve fishing

THE latest round of funding applications from the NSW government’s Recreational Fishing Trusts is open.

“Fishing is one of our state’s most popular recreational activities, with more than one million anglers dropping a line in each year, and recreational fishing contributing in excess of $3 billion in economic activity annually,” Primary Industry Minister Katrina Hodgkinson said.

“This year, applications for freshwater and other regional projects, including fishing infrastructure and community-based recreational fishing education projects, are particularly encouraged,” Ms Hodgkinson said.

Applications for funding close on Monday, April 14.
