The massive machine will drill about 80 holes, which will be used as the footings for the four-storey structure which will house 41 serviced apartments.
The piles on the western side of the former Nowra Mazda site are being drilled to a depth of eight metres, while in other locations they are six metres deep.
Once the holes reach the depth a metal reinforcement cage is placed into the hole and then the concrete is poured.
The work teams complete between six and eight bore holes a day.
The Albury-based Joss Group, which is managing the project hopes the footing piles will be completed by the end of next week.
