Association secretary Liz Tooley said the pathway had received universally favourable comments from the community and visitors.
“We estimate that at least 50 per cent of the pathway’s users were on bikes, skateboards, scooters and even wheelchairs and walking frames,” Mrs Tooley said.
“What better confirmation that we needed a 2.5-metre shared path.”
Mrs Tooley said visitors had complimented the pathway’s design, which blended in with the surrounding landscape.
“The pathway’s builders were enthusiastic and committed to getting the job done in time for the holiday season; they really owned the project.”
Mrs Tooley said there were far more visitors this year than expected, and looked forward to council completing the section between Minerva Road and Plantation Point Parade.
“This will provide great views of Orion Beach and Jervis Bay, and finally connect through walkways and shared pathways the towns of Huskisson and Hyams Beach.”
