Three tenders were presented at council’s Policy and Resources Committee last Tuesday, with Zauner Constructions from Ulladulla, Icon Building Group from Sydney and Wollongong’s Edwards Constructions all tendering for the project.
The project will see the replacement of the existing seven-lane 50m pool shell with nine lanes with associated water treatment facilities.
It will also incorporate an international Olympic standard water polo facility and an aquatic water park including a splash pad.
It is hoped work on the new facility will begin shortly and it will be open sometime in the 2014-15 season.
