Playing against Ulladulla United at Nowra High School No. 2 Oval, Ex-Servos lost four wickets before overtaking the visitors’ tally of 105, but few expected the margin to be blown out to 170 runs.
Higgins went on the attack from the outset, and he dominated partnerships of 53, 52 and 49 among the lower order.
He was last out, stumped for 147 as he attempted to bring up his 150 in the grand style.
Higgins hit 11 fours and eight sixes in his innings.
Higgins played with United for more than a decade, and still has friends among its members.
However the challenge of playing against his former club seems to bring out the best in his batting.
While playing fourth grade in 2011-12, he hit a career best 169 not out against United Blues at Milton Showground.
