POLICE have seized almost 200 cannabis plants, with a potential street value of more than $1 million, during a raid at a property in Bega earlier this month.

About 2.15pm on Thursday, January 9, police from the Far South Coast Local Area Command with the assistance of officers attached to the Target Action Group, executed a search warrant at a rural property.
No one was present when police entered the premises.
During a search of the property, a sophisticated hydroponic setup throughout several rooms of the house as well as the garage was located.
Police seized 198 cannabis plants, across several areas of the home, which have an estimated potential street value of more than $1 million.
A number of items including light bulbs, fans, fertilisers, electrical transformers and other equipment were also seized.
A crime scene was established at the home and examined by specialist officers and detectives.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing and police are urging anyone with information about suspicious or unusual activity in the area to come forward.
