Lindsay Peter Gorrie, 55, now of Grose Vale in north western Sydney, appeared before Magistrate Dr Gabriel Fleming charged with using a carriage service to access and disseminate child pornography.
Police allege the offences took place at his Shoalhaven Heads residence between March 18, 2011 and December 4, 2013.
As part of their ongoing investigations into the possession, production and dissemination of online child abuse material, detectives executed a search warrant at the home on December 4.
Police allegedly seized a number of items, including laptop and desktop computers, a tablet, a mobile telephone and electronic storage devices.
Gorrie was arrested at his workplace in Sydney later that day and taken to Sydney City Police Station where he was charged.
The matter was adjourned due to the length of the investigation into computers for the preparation of a brief and the possible laying of further charges.
Magistrate Fleming continued bail under strict conditions, including having to report to police regularly.
Gorrie will reappear in Nowra Local Court on May 6.
