POLICE are searching for a man who assaulted and robbed a 63-year-old man in his Nowra home on Saturday morning.
Police describe the man as being of Aboriginal appearance, 180cm tall, thin and wearing a black beanie, dark jacket, dark trousers and shoes.
He broke into a home in Bridge Road at 2.15am, confronted the resident with a knife and demanded money.
A short struggle followed and the resident was pushed to the ground causing injuries to his left wrist and knee.
His assailant fled the scene before returning to steal a bag containing a small amount of cash and cards.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man or anything suspicious in the vicinity of Bridge Road about that time to contact Nowra Detectives on 4421 9699.
