Local members of the NSW Nurses and Midwives Association (NSWMA) will meet at the Nowra School of Arts from 10am and will walk down Junction Street to Junction Court.
There they will stage a rally, seeking public support with petitions to force the state government into making changes to the ratios.
The NSWMA has staged a number of events to highlight what it says are inequities under the current system.
The union wants a ratio of one nurse to four patients in every hospital not just in the metropolitan areas.
At the most recent rally, the association presented a huge show of numbers with more than 5000 staff statewide voting unanimously to continue the fight.
Locally, more than 120 members packed into the Bomaderry Bowling Club to be one of 17 sites around the state that took part in the rally at Sydney Olympic Park via video feed.
The Shoalhaven branch of the association has also staged a separate rally in Junction Court, while other members have also attended rallies in Sydney.
Shoalhaven branch delegate Annette Aldrick said the march would again highlight the patient ratios issues.
“The patient ratio issue is still far from being sorted,” she said.
“We are again going to take our call for change to a public forum.
“We encourage anyone who would like to take part in the march and support us to just turn up on Thursday.
“If they can’t march but would still like to support us they can join the rally at Junction Court.”
The campaign is also set to go global.
On September 17 nurses and midwives from across Australia will join colleagues from around the world in Global Nurses United, a worldwide day of action calling for better nurse patient ratios.
Nowra is starting to become a hotbed
of marches.
Two weeks ago the annual Freedom of Entry March for local military personnel was held.
It was followed by the walk against street violence in North Nowra.
On Friday a rally for marriage equality turned Junction Court into the colours of the rainbow.
