With 2 months lost during COVID, the calendar for the remainder of the year is very congested. Last Tuesday's Social was well attended and it was Greg Newton & Alex Latanzio in first place, second was Ray Solway & David Milne while third went to Bob Brassington & Garry Gilligan. The jackpot spins were first by Willie Sulz & Ken Smart who missed out as did Hugo Camilo & Ziggy Ferchow. Wednesday evening saw the first round of the Major/Minors with 5 groups of 4 teams going head to head. Group 1 saw Allan Hiscox & Geff Tracey defeat Glenn Miller & Steve McMahon, Joe Bongiorno & Darren Draper accounted for Pepe Jakus & Harry Griffiths. In Group 2 Steve Fuller & Steve Helson beat Daniel Hundt & Luke West and Adam Green & Chris Harrison defeated Brian Howard & Derek Chapman. In Group 3 Fernando & Dale Woods were winners over Willie Sulz & Ken Smart, while the Ingrams father & son Jackson & Brad drew with Mick Cody & Rod Armstrong. In Group 4 it was Peter Drinkwater & Greg Salway over JJ Martin & TC Collin, Brian Fletcher & Gerry Webster came from behind to get over Bruce McDonald & Daniel Hiscox.
In Group 5 it was Jim Carroll & Justin Rumble over Bob Webster & Eric Lane, while Mark Abbott & Nathan Woods accounted for Greg Tatam & Charlie Francis.
Thursday was a small field with Wendy Nielson & Tini Fitzgerald winning, while second went to Garry Gilligan & Steve Helson. Col & Shirley Whethers tried their luck on the wheel only to fail however Graeme Hinsley spun up the $400 for his rink of Pepe Jakus, Ken Smart & John Webb.
Saturday saw Eric Lane contest the semi-final of the District Senior Singles but found the eventual winner Brian Suckley from Wisemans Park too good on the day going down 31/20. The second round of the Triples took place also on Saturday with Team Gerry Webster falling to team Ken Smart 30/17; team Tony TC Collin were too good for team Harry Griffith 29/14; team Daniel Hiscox also too good for team Paul Smith 27/16 and team Steve Helson had a good win over team Charlie Francis 31/19.
Saturday's prize winners were Steve Helson, while Darren Leary, Geoff Tracey & Tony TC Collin were second. The jackpot spin proved successful when Steve Helson spun up $400 for Jim Carroll, Brian Fletcher & Charlie Francis. Sunday was the semi-final of the Club Triples where once again team Tony Collin got away from team Ken Smart 24/16. In the other game a gallant team Steve Helson went down to team Daniel Hiscox 29/14.
On Wednesday the Major/Minors continue. Geoff Tracey & Eric Lane are away on Saturday in the Champion of Champion District Pairs.
On Sunday the Veterans Singles commences with the draw on the board. Also on the board are nominations for the Mixed Fours, Consistency Singles, single entry for the club's Mens 4s and finally the Jack Reid Challenge against Nowra.
