THE St Georges Basin Football Club was excited to finally get the 2020 season up and running during the past week, with the first full-field competition games kicking off on Wednesday night - with the under 15 A and B boys taking on Illaroo and Sussex respectively.

B grade had a 4-3 win against Sussex Inlet with a goal to Dylan Spargo and a hat-trick to Callum Rowley.
A grade took on Illaroo at Sharman Park and enjoyed a 4-nil win with goals to Chad Beehag, Jack Ross, Aiden Marks and Jack Baker.
Thursday night saw Basin's success continue with a brace from Ash Hale seeing the over 35s take home a win against Huskisson-Vincentia.
Saturday's juniors saw the under 14 girls come from behind to secure a 6-4 win over Illaroo - thanks to a hat-trick from Isabella Schofield, a brace from Olivia Bugg and a goal from Bridie Moore.
The under 12 girls had a 1-all draw against Culburra with Lily Heckenberg scoring for Basin.
The under 13 boys B grade had a challenging game, suffering an 8-nil loss against a strong Shoalhaven United team.
Basin's under 13 boys A secured a 4-2 win against United, on the back of a goal from Jim Dicker and a hat-trick from Nate Perez- who has moved out from between the sticks for the 2020 season to put pressure on the other end of the pitch.
Saturday afternoon saw the much anticipated Huskisson and Basin Derby.
Third grade took an early hit with a red card leaving the team short a player for the match and Huskisson moved ahead by a goal.
Nonetheless, the boys fought hard and Ryan Marr, newly up from the under 17s boys and out of his usual role as goalkeeper, scored an equalising goal for the team.
Unfortunately though, their best efforts were not enough in the end with Huskisson sneaking in a winning goal towards the end of the game.
Reserve grade had a tough match against the Seagulls and he side looked great - playing some fantastic football opportunities.
But in the endm weren't able to get passed the strong Huskisson reserve grade side, going down 2-nil.
The first grade clash was an exciting match to watch with Tim White scoring for the Basin in the opening minutes of the game.
After end to end action, it finished in a 2-all draw with a brace to Tim White from Basin.
Results: U15 boys A: 4-nil against Illarroo. Goals to Chad Beehag, Jack Ross, Aiden Marks and Jack Baker.
U15 boys B: 4-3 against Sussex. Goals to Callum Rowley (three) and Dylan Spargo.
Over 35s: 2-nil against Huskisson - Ash Hale (two).
