Jake Kearns, director of Aspire construction, said it was one of the most challenging builds he had undertaken - and that made the finished product all the more special.
"It was a really tricky build," he said.
"The clients had worked with an architect to get drawings they were really happy with, but from a buildability perspective there were a few challenges."
Mr Kearns said the clients, architect and engineer had all approached the project collaboratively, and the team managed to work through a number of challenges with only minor tweaks to the design.
"A lot of the stuff with the concrete was quite difficult," he said.
"The typical way of getting the finish they wanted leaves a big hole every half a meter, so it was a bit of a challenge to form it in a safe, proven way without those big holes.
"They needed to be really structurally sound, because in places they were supporting everything down to the floor beneath them."

Access to the site off the Princes Highway also proved tricky, as did certain design elements.
"A big one was waterproofing," Mr Kearns said.
"They wanted the master bedroom built into the hill, with a concrete roof over it. A catchment comes down into that hill.
"Drainage and waterproofing are already two big issues with any build and now you have a big surface area over the most important room in the house under all that water.
"But we solved it, it works, and it felt unbelievable when we got to the end of it."
Mr Kearns said the team that worked on the project weren't just pleased with how the build turned out - the clients' response made all the hard work worthwhile.
"The wife was in tears the day she moved in, she was so thankful," he said.
"They noticed little things we did that we thought would go unnoticed, they were really rapt.
"They were so happy with it they offered myself, my foreman and the other main guy on the job the chance to stay there for a week with our families.
"I've never had a job before that's felt so amazing to say 'yep, we did it'."
