In late 2018 a nearby development removed a telecommunications pole that supported the wire for a nearby Bawley Point Home.
Although the phone line remained in place, it was run along the ground, leaving it vulnerable to kangaroos, foot traffic and other disturbances.

The developer, Shoalhaven City Council, Telstra and the NBN struggled to come to an agreement over who was responsible for replacing the pole - and in the meantime, the line was left on the ground.
Last week it entangled and killed a kangaroo, much to the distress of residents.
"The roo got tangled behind a holiday house - the line runs through several properties - we couldn't see it, it must have been tuck for ages before it died," Liza Butler said.
"We lost so many roos in the bushfires, it's really sad."
Following inquiries, NBN Co said they would be responsible for fixing the problem.
"We apologise for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused," a spokesperson said.
"We have spoken with the resident and will be working to connect them to the NBN access network as soon as possible."
The line has since been removed by Telstra.
