Mr Catt, of Shoalhaven Heads, recently celebrated his 90th birthday. His daughter, Linda, said he has never spent a night in hospital, has an active social life, doesn't mind a drink and has never smoked.
She said he did, however have the "worst diet" she's ever seen.
"He's very friendly and social, he and the same group of friends have gone to the club for dinner and the raffle every Tuesday for the past 30 years," she said.
"He loves the coastal lifestyle and I think that's what's kept him going."
Mr Catt grew up in Parramatta and lived in the Granville area for most of his married life. He worked at the Goodyear tyre factory - which included shift work, next to an asbestos-filled building.
He and his wife, Moreen, had three children. Sadly, Moreen passed away in 2012. Mr Catt now has nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He and Moreen bought a block at Shoalhaven Heads more than 50 years ago. What started out as a weekender eventually became their retirement escape in 1984.
An avid fisher, Mr Catt thrived in the laid-back community, and was involved in the Shoalhaven Heads Bowling Club and Dune Care.
He still lives at home with his eldest son Gary.
He celebrated his 90th birthday with 25 of his closest friends and family at the Shoalhaven Heads Bowling Club on March 1.
