Lots of friendly rivalries have been built up over the years and all the players want to maintain the bragging rights over their opponents.
All cricket in the region was rightfully called off last weekend and an announcement regarding this weekend's round is expected soon.
Here is a rundown of where the teams are currently placed on their respective ladders.
Second grade
Two teams are currently going toe to toe in the Shoalhaven Cricket Association's second grade competition after the first part of the season.
Bay and Basin and Norths are the pace-setters with 99 competition points apiece.
Their seasons mirror each other and the Basin is rated on top of the ladder due to its better wicket-taking and run making ratio.
The two second grade ladder leaders have both won seven matches and lost two matches this season.
The Basin, in total, has lost 81 wickets for 1900 runs and has taken 89 wickets for 1596 runs.
Norths has lost 76 wickets for 1588 runs and taken 84 wickets for 1371 runs.
Nipping away at the leaders' toes are Batemans Bay third on 89 points and Sussex Inlet fourth on 73 points.
Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens and Bomaderry, each with 21 points have some ground to make.
Third Grade
The majority of the third grade all remain in the hunt for a spot in the semi-final series, following what has been an excellent start to the season.
Sussex Inlet leads the way with its 60 points but Berry Shoalhaven Heads with 52 points is not too far away.
Sussex has only been defeated once this season and won four matches and had a draw.
Berry has also won four matches this year but has been defeated on two occasions.
The consistent North Nowra Cambewarra and Ulladulla United, each with 47 points, round off the top four.
Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens and Batemans Bay, each with 34 competition points, are within the top four striking range.
Bomaderry on eight competition points has a lot of ground to make up.
Fourth grade
Don't assume the fourth grade teams are not competitive just because they are playing in the lowest grade.
The fourth grade players are always keen to do well and lead their teams to victory.
Bay and Basin, on the standard one day ladder, is setting the pace at the moment and has only suffered one loss this season.
Basin tops the ladder with 125 points thanks to its nine victories this season.
Sussex Inlet, as indicated by its six wins, two draws and three-loss record, has enjoyed a good season and sits in second place with 94 points.
Berry Shoalhaven Heads 86 points and North Nowra Cambewarra 68 points round off the top four.
Norths is just clinging onto a place in the top fourth as Batemans Bay and Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens also have 68 competition points
Nowra 60 points and Ulladulla United 21 points will be looking to work their way up the ladder when the competition resumes.
