"They turned up with two truckloads actually. We distributed those and then it started flowing from everywhere, from all over the state," Mr Schultz said.
"We've had 25-30 trucks come through here and give us goods of every imaginable description."
Initially, one hall at the showground was used as water and other goods were forwarded to the evacuation centre at the Ulladulla Civic Centre. Now, every available room at the showground is full.
As the evacuation centre has transitioned to the recovery phase, and is no longer serving meals, the showground has become a de factfo supermarket, distributing goods directly to those in need.
The task got so busy, Mr Schultz said he pulled a 30-day hour on January 2. He has been helped by an army of volunteers who have unloaded trucks and sorted the donations.
Mr Schultz said people wanting to help should now focus on donating money directly to relief agencies such as the Red Cross.
