Visual arts students at Shoalhaven High School collaborated with Shoalhaven City Council and community members to create a colourful and meaningful mural for the park.
The mural is inspired by the bold and brilliant colours of Aboriginal artist Maringka Baker.
The vibrant landscape painting used a map of Parramatta Park as the template for students to communicate their ideas about heritage, culture, community and identity.
The lines, shapes and design symbolise each students' unique talents and ideas about living in the Shoalhaven. The mural took many months to paint due to the large size and detailed painting style.
Mission Australia kindly provided a BBQ for the installation of the mural to help celebrate the achievement.
