Although Equinor's environment plans have been knocked back, environmentalists are concerned it's just a stumbling block, rather than the death knell of the project.
They're concerned an oil spill in the bight would wreak havoc on marine life up the east coast of Australia, and are calling on anyone who wants to take a stand to join them on November 23.
There will be a "hands across the sands" and paddle out event at North Mollymook, from 7.30am for an 8am start.
Times are yet to be confirmed for the Kiama paddle out.
Organiser Rusty Moran will be presenting to Kiama Council on Monday, November 18, and hopes that they will join Shoalhaven City Council and other council in Australia who have publicly opposed Equinor drilling in the bight.
For those unable to make it to the paddle out, Patagonia Ambassador Heath Joske will show his 2019 film, 'The Head Of The Bight', at Mollymook Surf Club on Sunday, November 17.
