Rob, as part of a Rotary Clubs of NSW project, is currently driving around the state towing a van.
The Men's Health Education Rural Van (MHERV) has put men on the path to better health and it will be coming to Nowra from Wednesday, November 20 to Thursday 21 at the new Bunnings Hardware behind Burger King in South Nowra.
Rob does things like high blood pressure and sugar level tests - sometimes the results can be confronting.
"One poor bugger left fairly dumb-struck but acknowledged that he was lucky to have been encouraged to come for a MHERV check-up," Rob said.
"It was a good outcome which changed this bloke's thinking - ultimately it (the MHERV check-up) saved his life."
Rob, from his custom-built van, offers free health screenings to regional and rural men, who are notorious for being completely in the dark about the state of their health.
Research shows conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar which have little or no apparent symptoms, can build up and lead to sudden unexpected death or long term incapacity.
However, 10 minutes spent in the MHERV van can only bring good news.

Either the tests show no reason for concern or at the other end of the scale, it may be recommended that immediate medical attention be sought for possible treatment that would bring the condition under control.
Rob just does not do the test - he follows things up just to make sure the bloke does not take the bloke's 'she will be right' approach
"One day a bloke came in with dangerously high blood pressure. Again I gave a full explanation of the consequences of ignoring his condition," Rob said.
"I followed it up the next day when I was also able to talk to his wife and made sure that she knew the danger her husband was facing,
"They made an appointment to have a full medical review and thanked me for the MHERV medical check.
"They said the check will help them have a better standard of health awareness in the future.
