The Rural Fire Service is warning people to avoid all bushland areas; safer areas may include large centres, such as towns or cities well away from bushland areas.
District Officer Ross Smith said although the conditions were concerning the region is prepared.
"We do have strike teams coming down to the area, just in case anything does generate within the Shoalhaven," Mr Smith said.
"We've also lined up an incident management team within the district... if an incident does kick off and became a large size then we have the personnel in the main office to run the incident management team.
"And local brigades have given their availability so we know the resources and are ready to go if activated by pagers."

"No, we've only sent a certain amount of people away so we still retain the coverage within the Shoalhaven," he said.
"But we can also be supported by neighbouring districts as well including the Illawarra, Southern Highlands, Far South and Lake George.
"We don't believe we're going to have any issues with resourcing at this stage if an incident was going to start off."
