Following a formal complaint, Mehl met with NSWRL region manager (Southern) Kevin Felgate and St George Illawarra Dragons CEO Brian Johnston on Tuesday, along with Group Seven director Allan Carroll, who was representing president Roy Mills, who was away.
Felgate said an action plan was 'being developed' to ensure nothing like this happened again but there were no discussion over Mehl's future.
He said any decision regarding Mehl's position rests with Group Seven and not NSWRL.
"Any decision like that isn't in my scope, as we don't have that sort of power," Felgate said.
"Peter [Mehl] is employed by and reports to the Group Seven board, so ultimately any decision like that falls on them."

Felgate has contacted the club who submitted the formal complaint to discuss the outcomes of the meeting at the Steelers Club.
"The facts are the facts and we can all acknowledge that Peter made an inappropriate comment - which he sincerely apologised for," Felgate said.
"Due to the severity of the incident, which saw a formal complaint submitted, we are going to develop an action plan to ensure nothing like this ever happens again.
"Rugby league as a whole is an inclusive and transparent sport, where we all learnt from our mistakes and I'm sure Peter will in this case."
At this stage, no more meetings have been scheduled, ahead of Group Seven's senior AGM on Wednesday, November 13.
Felgate has instructed Mehl to not speak to the media at this time.
Group Seven president Roy Mills was contacted for comment.
