Both boys, from Ss Peter and Paul Kiama, were recognised in the Catholic Education Office Diocese of Wollongong's annual Christmas Story Art Competition.
The competition is for year 5 and 6 students from the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands and Macarthur. Entries are displayed in an exhibition at the Wollongong Art Gallery.
On Wednesday October 16, students and guests attended an awards ceremony at the gallery. Sixteen finalists from the top 55 art works were selected to be sent to Sydney as entries into the larger Christmas Art competition across multiple NSW dioceses, held at Notre Dame later this year.
Elias Oldfield received the prestigious CatholicCare Star of Hope Award.
Leo Wallace-Pannell received a finalist award.
