Fresh off dominating the Sam Bremner competition, the Ulladulla High School open women's team carried their form to Penrith on Thursday, to take out the inaugural Katrina Fanning Cup - previously known as the NSW females state finals day.
Ulladulla HS opened their day with a 28-8 win against Murray High School, before going down 20-16 to Bass High School.
This set up a semi-final showdown with Hunter River High School, which Ulladulla easily won 24-6.
Then in the final, Ulladulla faced off with Bass HS again but reversed the result to win 12-4 and claim the Katrina Fanning Cup.
Player of the match when to Meg Buchanan - which caps off an amazing week for her, after we was named co-winner of the Illawarra District Rugby League under 18s Player of the Year alongside Bulldogs teammate Keele Browne.
The day, which had 32 teams and 480 teenage girls compete, saw Warilla High School defeat Hunter Sports High School 16-8 to take out the under 16s crown.
The other two champions on the day were Hunter Sports High School, defeating Chifley College Dunheved Campus 12-nil (under 14s), and Blairmont Public School, who downed South Wagga Public School 30-14 (under 12s).
