The HSC trial exams started on Friday, August 16 for Vincentia High students with the first official exam set for October.
Year 12 student Erin Steeles said it was difficult balancing all her subjects.
"I'm pretty overwhelmed, it's a very stressful time," she said.
"I do alright in assignments, but I usually bomb out in the pressure of exams.
"I'll try, but it's hard to study."
Tiana Coull said she was also finding it hard to study.
"I'm trying to study but it's not really working out," she said.
"I just don't have the motivation to study until it's closer to the date.
"There's a lot of people at school at the moment who are really supportive, but it's a really stressful time."
"I thought about going to Uni," student Jake Hickman said.
"There is a lot of pressure as I want to go to Uni, and I've applied for early entry... so hopefully I get in."
Senior staff at Vincentia High are attempting to promote healthy study habits, with school coordinated study lock-ins, "holistic survival kits" and early entry consultation.

Senior Studies Centre Coordinator at Vincentia High School, Ashleigh Tinkler said she hoped the survival kits would help students feel supported both mentally and physically.
"The survival kit ranges from key messages and academic support from our school council, deputy principal, careers advice to timetabling support and colouring in. There's a free gym membership for three weeks from Anytime Fitness, along with tea, coffee and lollies," Ms Tinkler said.
"The lock-in is where students will come to the school library. They'll study, focus on their academics, and teachers will come in so the students can ask anything to do with their subjects.
Ms Tinkler's advice to HSC students was to make sure students had balance in their study schedules.
"Make sure you are focusing on your academics and know how to study, but also know how to take care of yourself," she said.
HSC exams run from the October 17 until November 11.
Results are released in December and is when students will find out if their hard work paid off.
