Minister for Trade and Industry, Niall Blair, recently announced a dozen producers of the state’s tastiest food and beverages who will fly the NSW flag for quality at the Southern Hemisphere’s largest food industry trade expo, Fine Food Australia, in Melbourne in September.
PhycoHealth is one of the 12 and will show off its nutritional foods infused with cultivated seaweed packed with nutrients.
Mr Blair said the ‘Flavours of NSW’ stand at Fine Food Australia will feature stunning gourmet food and niche beverages from the Shoalhaven, Riverina-Murray, Central Coast, Sydney, Hunter, New England-North West, Central West, Snowy Mountains and North Coast regions.
“Fine Food Australia is our annual Olympics for food, bringing together 1,000 plus exhibitors from over 60 countries to compete for the attention of more than 20,000 food industry buyers and importers,” he said
“The event gives NSW food and beverage producers a chance to market their brands to a who’s who of the industry and sell their products to the nation and the world.
“This year’s event is in Melbourne and we’ve assembled a diverse list of our best and most innovative producers to showcase what we’re made of here in NSW.
“Our products will include mouth-watering artisan cheeses, gourmet coffee, native bush food, award-winning condiments, sugar-free chocolate, seaweed infused creations, and niche beverages including craft ginger beer and Snowy Mountains schnapps.”
Fine Food Australia, to be held from September 10-13, is a trade-only event targeted at professionals working in the food service, hospitality and retail industries.
The NSW Department of Industry is providing subsidised spots to promote 12 NSW companies on a specially designed “Flavours of NSW” stand, showcasing the state’s strengths as a high-quality food and beverage producer.
Company representatives recently met at NSW Parliament for a pre-event preparation workshop.
NSW has over 50,000 agricultural, aquaculture, fishing and food and beverage processing companies that contribute to a food and agriculture export industry worth more than $7 billion a year.
Fine Food Australia will also allow the NSW exhibitors to learn from industry leaders about the latest industry trends, and for restaurateurs to source the best and newest NSW products for their menus to keep diners walking through the door.
