Luke West produced his best form to defeat Geoff Swann in the Bomaderry mens bowls major final 31-16 to win his first major singles.

The mens 4’s has commenced and in round 1 team Paul Smith defeated Team Luke West 20-19, team Noel Duff defeated team Daniel Hicox 21-7 & team Steve Helson defeated team Rick McLachlan 23-21 while team Greg Salway had the Bye.

5’s away to Warilla loosing all rinks with Paul Bevis’s team 32-18 John Lamb 20-19 & Gerry Webster 21-9
7’s were at home to Kiama and also lost all rinks with Fernando Castillo 20-21 Alan Hiscox 18-29 & Brian Fletcher 11-23
Sundays washout round saw the 2’s continue their form with a great win over Windang Geoff Wudy’s team lost 11-27 Luke West’s team won 21-13 & Daniel Hiscox’s team won 26-10
The 5’s lost all rinks to Towradgi John Lamb’s team 14-22 Gerry Webster’s team 12-23 & Paul Bevis’s team 10-35
The 7’s also enjoyed a great win away to Gerringong Alan Hiscox’s team won 33-11 Fernando Castillo’s team drew a 4 on the last end to share the points 22-22 & Brian Fletcher’s team lost 20-22.
Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemen Men
Wednesday saw 37 membersplay five matches of the Club Major Singles Championship, with one game of Social Triples and four games of Social Pairs. Saturday saw 27 players contest three matches of the Club Major Single Championship as well as one game of Mixed Social Triples and 3 games of Mixed Pairs.
Wednesday 16th May the dead greens made bowling a heavy job.
Rink 2 John Edwards over John Mac by a solitary shot 31 to 30. Marker Mick Edwards
Rink 3 was another close match Alan Rose overcame Allan Furniss and got home by 31 shots to 27. Marker Eddy Lee.
Rink 4 saw Gary Trautsch play magnificent bowls to beat Roy Cartledge by 31 to 22 shots. Marker Ian Abberley
Rink 5 in a surprising result, John Black played excellent bowls to beat Peter Smith by 31 shots to 11. Marker Gary Thurston
Rink 6 held the last match for the day of Singles. Dave Milne treated us to an exhibition of lawn bowls while beating Phill Rimmer by 31 to 9 shots. Marker David Solomon
Rink 9 in the game of Social Triples, Matthew Rosina, Joe Wright and Graham Mills overpowered their opponents by 20 to 16 shots.
Rink 10 In the first game of Pairs, Bazza Waters and Ray Solway played wonderful bowls to get home by 22 shots to 16.
Rink 11 Bert Madge and Graham Eyre a well-earned win by 15 to 13 shots over Tommy Smith and Trevor Wright. What a close game!
Rink 12 In another game of the Social Pairs, Paul Goddard and Les Stuart had a great win over their opponents by 18 to 12 shots.
Rink 13 saw Graeme Price and Terry Wright triumph by 24 shots to 10.

Rink 4 saw another close match with Michael Edwards well in the lead only to see Alan Rose swoop in over the top and snatch the match by 31 to 28 shots. Marker Allan Furniss
Rink 5 witnessed Graham Mills playing at his best and triumphing over Rob Ray by 31 shots to 14. Marker David Solomon
Rink 9 observed the first game of Mixed Pairs with Les Stuart and Norma Yee running out winner at 17 to 14 shots.
Rink 10 watched John O’Dell and John Edwards thump their opponents by 26 shots to 18.
Rink 11 beheld Bert Madge and John Black at their best as they disposed of the opposition by 30 to 8 shots.
