A West Kempsey man who went on a spending spree with stolen credit cards, racking up more than $700 in purchases, has been jailed for two years.

Craig Anthony Wilson, 41, pleaded guilty to four counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception, taking and driving a conveyance, resisting arrest and break and enter in Nowra Local Court.
Another eight counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception were taken into account by Magistrate Gabriel Fleming during his sentencing.
The court heard between 11pm on April 22 and 8.30am on April 23 this year Wilson took a silver Holden Captiva at Nowra and then between 4.44am and 4.52am on April 22 purchased numerous packets of cigarettes and drinks from two service stations at South Nowra with a stolen credit card.
Police said he used another stolen credit card on five occasions in the early hours of April 21, buying cigarettes, groceries, food, a hair styler and bluetooth karaoke machine from a South Nowra service station, McDonald’s South Nowra, Woolworths Nowra and Kmart Nowra.
Magistrate Fleming said there was no alternative to jail and sentenced Wilson to two years’ jail with a non-parole period of of 12 months.
