One in eight Shoalhaven residents are carers, but 79 percent don’t identify themselves as a carer.
They are the wife, husband, partner, parent, brother, sister, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, cousin, grandparent, grandchild, relative or friend who provides support to one or more family members, neighbours or friends because of chronic illness, disability, mental health issue or frail age.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District Carer Program invites you to attend a free carer workshop at Bomaderry Bowling Club from May 2, 9 and 16 between 9.30am to 2.30pm.
The three-day program covers aged care and disability services, planning ahead, health and wellbeing plus an opportunity to meet other carers with lunch provided.
