The works have been identified as part of the NSW Pedestrian Around Schools Program with funding provided by the NSW Government, with the works costing $300,000.
The work includes the provision for raised pedestrian crossings along with new line marking, signage and adjustments to the existing footpaths.
The bulk of the works are scheduled to take place over the April school holidays with some construction likely to take place either side of the holidays.
The sites to benefit from the road improvements include Cambewarra Road – Bomaderry (Bomaderry Public); North Street – Nowra (St Michael’s); Moss Street – Nowra (Nowra High); Emmett Street – Callala Bay (Callala Bay Public); Hawken Road – Tomerong (Tomerong Public); and Green Street – Ulladulla (Ulladulla Public).
Local traffic controls will be in place during construction with motorists asked to exercise caution and follow the traffic controls during construction.
