The sole occupant of the vehicle who appeared to be a middle-aged man escaped unscathed, with the help of a truck driver who pulled over to help him out.
Emergency services attended including an ambulance and the Berry Fire and Rescue crew.
Firefighters cleaned up the debris on the Princes Highway, and after a quick assessment for shock, the man was free to leave.
A Fire and Rescue spokesman said it was lucky the mobile message board was there to take some of the impact – the concrete barrier would not have been so forgiving.
His white Subaru, with extensive damage, has been towed from the scene, the squashed mobile message board remains on the corridor of the road, and though its screen is blank, it acts as a reminder for drivers to take care on the Princes Highway.
