Court papers said Samuel Alan Peke, 30, was driving south on the highway between 11.14pm and 11.52pm on February 3.
A witness told police the Holden Captiva he was driving near Central Avenue was swerving between lanes and travelling very slowly.
Further south at the Warra Warra Road roundabout, the car travelled over the inside kerb without braking causing the vehicle to suffer a flat tyre.
When police arrived at the location, the car was parked on the edge of the road and Peke was still sitting in the driver’s seat.
He returned a positive breath test and later a breath analysis reading of 0.2.
Peke told officers he had consumed 14 stubbies of Corona beer at the North Nowra Tavern and at a home in Nowra.
Papers said during that time he had only consumed some hot chips and part of a burger.
In Nowra Local Court on Monday, Peke pleaded guilty to high range drink driving with Magistrate Gabriel Fleming fining him $1800, disqualifying him from driving for seven months, placed him on a 12-month good behaviour bond and ordered he have an interlock device fitted to his vehicle for two years.
