A 17-year-old North Nowra boy who pleaded guilty to an attempted robbery in Wollongong has been placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond.

Around 6.55am on May 5 last year, the teenager approached a 48-year-old man on his morning walk in Keira Street, Wollongong demanding his iPod.
Court papers said the youth approached the man asking him for the time.
The man told the teenager he didn't have a watch, to which the boy asked about the man’s iPod and was given the time.
Court papers said the boy waited as a police car that was in the area drove past before turning and walking after the man.
The youth grabbed the man on the arm, demanding his iPod, which the man refused, pushing the teenager away.
The man crossed the street and walked home before notifying the police.
Police searched the area but couldn't find the teenager, but gained CCTV footage, which identified the youth.
He was arrested by police in the Wollongong CBD in September and charged with assault with intent to rob.
Court papers said the teenager, who suffers an intellectual disability, was known to police and had the propensity to commit rail offences.
The teenager pleaded guilty in Port Kembla Children’s Court with Magistrate David Williams placing him on a 12-month good behaviour bond.
