This week I have some information that I know you have been waiting for since last year.
I am proud to announce that this year’s “Coffee with a Cop” will be taking place at a number of yet to be announced locations within the Shoalhaven and beyond.
I’m excited!
Coffee with a Cop will be held on Tuesday, May 8, so there is a bit over six weeks to go.
If you have been living in a cave for the last year you may not know what I am talking about, just like my wife.
She never knows what I am talking about.
Let me explain;
On Tuesday, May, 8 police officers from the Shoalhaven Local Area Command and community members will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee.
All community members are invited to attend.
There will be a number of events on the day.
Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the police work in Shoalhaven neighborhoods.
The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations.
Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community.
Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.
It is our hope that community members feel comfortable enough to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know your local police.
Driving - Just an observation while I have been driving around the town while off duty.
There are still some people that are rushing about, on the phone, speeding, texting, going through stop signs, not indicating, and ignoring the road rules.
Just remember the rules apply to everyone and we will be much safer if they are followed.
If you continue to break the road rules don’t whinge when you get a ticket.
