Brogers Creek, Woodhill, has been drenched with the most rain in the area over the past 24 hours, recording 114mm.
Light rain is forecast for Thursday, and the region is tipped to experience a heavy downpour on Friday.
Showers are forecast for Thursday and Friday, a possible shower is forecast for Saturday, a late shower or two is forecast for Sunday, and shower or two is forecast for Monday.
Cool weather is forecast until Saturday, when a 27-degree day is expected, and Sunday will reach a top of 31 degrees.
Nowra has experienced just 37mm of rain this month to date.
This is a stark contrast to this time last year, when Nowra was soaked with 377mm of rain in March, 2017.
A wetter than average April to June is likely for southeast NSW.
Farmers will likely welcome the rainfall, after lower than average rainfall over the past three months.
